Just letting you know that we are doing fine; bit busy that is all.
I found out on Friday that I have been accepted into the official apprenticeship program and am starting work on the 11th of June (next Monday) with one of the union contracting companies.
I gave my old  boss my weeks notice but since they allegedly don’t have enough work they told me that I couldn’t work this week which is fine with me as I still get my weeks holiday pay and I can now do some gardening and other work around the house which I haven’t done at all since moving into this house and as you can imagine there are a lot of weeds in the garden.

Weather this week has been crappy; yesterday was ok in the morning with some sun but the rest of the day were thunder clouds; today was cold and dreary but didnt rain until tonight, it is raining cats and dogs outside for the first time in months which will be good for the bush fires that are raging around the state due to the lightning storms we have had.

Jess graduated her first year in the apprenticeship 3 weeks ago with a 92% average which is excellent; still working at the hospital but the hospital construction is almost finished so we don’t know where she will be going after that but it will most likely be in one of the new hotels being built that they are hurting for electrical workers in.

It has been a long time since I have updated this; we went to San Fransisco in April and had a great time meeting other kiwis, even found the New Zealander bar and restaurant, found out one of the bartenders use to live in Britan beach which is just over the hill from my home town in New Zealand and use to work at Fisher & Paykel; small world huh.
