This is a 2 week update, sorry to have kept you all in the dark for so long.

2 weekends ago Jess, Jess’s mom and sister and I went on a trip to Lake Mono to see the rock formations protruding out of the water and to see all the bird life there since about 50% of seagulls from the US are born at Lake Mono.
Lake Mono was interesting but more so were the Prairie dogs we were watching by the creek next to the car park; there was about 8 little prairie dogs popping out of the ground and running around and there was also a few woodpeckers about pecking at the trees which was funny to watch.

The next day Jess and I went on a drive to sierra valley which is about 20mins drive into California from here (it is where Jess grew up) we drove around the whole valley looking at all the birds on the sides ofthe deer the road and in the wetlands; the birds were extremely color full.
We then took a drive from the valley to Frenchman’s lake California which is bout 35mins from our house.
While we were there I did some fishing (but didn’t have any luck) and we had a small BBQ lunch before we went for a drive around the lake and hiking in the bush etc.

Last week at work was quite slow but it was somewhat productive; I had some good sales days last week which was good and I hope it stays that way.

This weekend on the Friday after work Jess and I took a drive to Frenchman’s lake again and setup camp.
As we were coming into camp we spotted a wild deer on the side of the road munching on some food; we took a photo of the deer.
We got to the camp site after driving around several looking for good spots at about 7:30pm when it was beginning to get dark so we lite a fire in the fire pit and set up the tent in the light from the fire; we then cooked dinner on the fire and went to sleep by 10:30 to get up early to go fishing.

We didn’t get much sleep since it was so damn cold; in fact it was the worst sleep we had had in ages; it may be extremely hot in the day but it is extremely cold at night time.
We got up and had breakfast which we cooked on the fire at about 6am and went fishing at 7:30am till lunchtime when we went for a walk.
The animals at the lake are amazing; the animals we witnessed on our walk and throughout the weekend consisted of….

lots of cute chipmunks, rabbits, wild deer, numerous species of squirrels, woodpeckers, frogs, red breasted robins, lizards, hawks, falcons and vultures.

We had a better sleep on Saturday night and got up at 8am to go fishing; we left the camp and were home by 10am.
