Haven’t posted to the blog in over a week since on thanks giving my motherboard was inadvertently fried due to some unknown reasons but I was able to source another one and am blogging now
We started working for Amazon.com on the day before thanks giving; the entire first day was orientation which was just the managers and trainers going over safety rules and regulations and teaching us how to do our job properly.
Jess and I have had to get up at 4am to start work at 7am since it takes us an hour to get to work due to the distance work is away from our house; this week and the weeks coming we will be starting work at 6:15 and finishing at 5:30pm so I don’t know time we will be getting up but probably the same time since 4am is extremely early and getting up even earlier would suck even more than it does now.
Last week we were doing 50 hour weeks (10hrs * 5 days with Wed and Sun off) this week we will be doing 52 hours (10.45 * 5 with the same days off)
Last Thursday was thanks giving which went off without a hitch except my computer getting fried.
It was a cold day but we stayed in the warm eating turkey, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes with marshmallow (not a desert[yep strange but its what the Americans like to eat haha), gravy, carrots ect and for desert we had Pumpkin pie, apple pie and pavlova.
On Monday the 28th of November it snowed while we were at work and it took us 3 hours to get home instead of the regular 1 and a half hours because of the road conditions and traffic.
On Wednesday there was a severe wind warning in the valley that we have to travel 30 mins everyday to get to and from work; on the way to work it was pouring with rain and sleet and windy as hell the entire journey from home to the beginning of the valley and on the way home it was extremely windy throughout the valley and the desert getting home, even windy enough to flip a huge semi truck (big rig) minute before we past it; not sure if the guy driving survived but there were police, fire engines and ambulances right down the road fighting a huge scrub fire that inadvertently burned a house down; so the driver would have gotten the help needed.
It has been getting really cold at nights with nights sometimes getting to be -10 degrees Celsius and days hovering around 3 degrees and it is getting even colder as winter approaches(not winter here yet, its still autumn, winter begins mid December)
Christmas time is coming up and Jess and I would like to wish everyone a merry Xmas; Merry Xmas everyone ![]()
Missing you all.
