Its been about 3 weeks since Jessica & I left New Zealand for USA.
In the time that we have been in USA we have accomplised quite alot; caught up with old friends and family, registered our car & purchased car insurance, visited San Fransisco.
Yesterday I recieved in the mail my official greencard and today I recieved my Social Security card which I have to use for tax purposes and other identity purposes.
I had actually applyed on friday after waiting in the waiting room for 90mins at the Social Security office for my card which they said would be mailed to me in 2 weeks but I didnt relise that when I applyed for my greencard I also applyed for my SSN so I guess I will be ringing the Social Security office monday morning to cancel the card I applyed for on friday.
When we first arrived 3 weeks ago to Reno, Nevada the weather was hot with a whole week of blue skys with no clouds in the sky with soaring tempertures.
Now it is cold with cloudy skys, it has only rained once however and that wasnt even really a rainfall; mainly a few drops here and there.
We visited Brentwood in California for a week and it was hot there but overcast most of the time; it didnt rain there either but on the way back over the Sierra Nevada’s (huge mountain running through the californian and Nevadian border north and south) it was snowing quite heavily and so it was a slow trip.
Since I have my SSN Jessica and I will looking for jobs this coming week untill get jobs; there seems to be an abundance of jobs in and around reno so it wont be too long before we find jobs.
On another note; the food here is good but I am getting a little sick of the fast food even though I thought I would never say that; I am hanging out for a good old New Zealand roast lamb.
Take care all.
Love Scott & Jess
